THE BASICS
Opportunity details can differ by organiser. Check each event listing and any updates in your portal before making plans.
Open the volunteer portal, choose Register, and create an account with Google or an email address and password. Complete your profile so the team can understand your interests and talents. If you already have an account, choose Log in.
People aged 13 and older can create a volunteer profile. For volunteers aged 13–17, an administrator must confirm guardian consent before event participation or posting to the network. Each opportunity may also have role-specific requirements.
No. Events also need people skilled in hospitality, operations, photography, media, administration and many other areas. Add your talents to your profile and review the requirements for each opportunity.
Sign in and open Events in the portal. An event may let you select dates, request a shift or register interest, depending on how its organiser is filling roles. Follow the instructions on that event card; selecting availability does not by itself confirm an assignment.
Check your event details, assignments and updates in the portal. The event team confirms roles and schedules. Do not assume you are assigned merely because you registered interest or selected available dates.
Once you have registered for an event, sign in to view its Event briefings and updates. Organisers can share instructions, files and meeting links there. Check the portal again before the event in case details change.
Available courses appear in the portal. When a course includes lessons and a quiz, completing its lessons and passing the quiz can earn a course badge on your volunteer record. Course availability varies.
Your portal profile includes a volunteer ID with a code that authorised event staff can scan to check your current assignment status. At participating events, authorised staff record check-in and check-out. Keep your profile details current and follow the instructions from your event team.
